Collage Prep

When you participate in Centering Collage, there is a certain amount of preparation you will need to do to get ready.

  1.  Clear the space at which you will be Centering.

  2. Arrange all of your supplies so they are less than an arm’s distance away.

  3. Make sure you have used the restroom, silenced all of your electronic devices, have a cup of water nearby, and secured a safe, sacred space for you to Center.

Supply and Ingredient List

Please have these items gathered and ready before the start of Circle.

  • All kinds of papers - magazine pages, photos, words, wrapping paper, greeting cards, newspapers, anything that feels relevant and has energy & charge for you!  Have a pile of items that you are drawn to at the ready.

  • Any items that you wish to add to your image - ribbon, sequins, buttons, beads, etc.

  • Base - to mount and glue your image - I usually use a piece of cardboard (a cereal box weight works fine - grab whatever you’ve got) because it is more sturdy than a sheet of paper.  You can also use canvas, poster paper, wood, etc.

  • Scissors

  • Adhesives - glue, tape, washi tape, glue sticks, etc.  Keep in mind - if you use glue, your piece may not be dry by the end of Circle.  If you use water soluble products, liquid glue may cause the inks to run.

  • Writing implements

  • Your Journal or some paper to write your reflections about your Centering Collage

  • Towels for clean up and emergencies

  • Trash and/or recycling receptacle (you may want to cut and snip right over your trashcan)

  • Anything else you may need … check in with yourself to see what you need for your own self-care.
